Activity:

Join us in making a cute mermaid craft from recycled toilet rolls, while also incorporating musical elements!

Materials needed:

• Toilet paper rolls
• Paint and paintbrushes
• Scissors
• Glue
• Googly eyes
• Optional: Sequins, glitter, and other decorations

Steps:

1. Paint the toilet roll in the desired mermaid colors and let dry.
2. Cut out a mermaid tail shape from colored paper or cardboard and glue to the bottom of the toilet roll.
3. Cut out a mermaid bikini top shape from colored paper or cardboard and glue to the top of the toilet roll.
4. Add decorations to the mermaid's tail and bikini top using sequins, glitter, or other decorations.
5. Glue on googly eyes and any other facial features.
6. Let dry and enjoy your new toilet roll mermaid!

Connecting to music:

• Use the toilet roll mermaid as a puppet and make up a song or musical story about her adventures under the sea.
• Create your own underwater music instruments such as a paper plate tambourine or a water bottle xylophone and play music to accompany your mermaid's adventure.
