Welcome to the world of budget-friendly DIY crafts! Today, we're going to create a beautiful sheet music letter using old cereal boxes. This chipboard monogram will add a touch of elegance to your home decor. Let's get started!
Materials Needed:
Cardboard (can be from an Amazon box or empty cereal box)
Sheet music
Glue
Ink for distressing the edges
Instructions:
Cut out four pieces of the letter you want to create from the cardboard. You can print a template and use scissors to cut out the shape. Stack up the cardboard pieces and use spray adhesive or white glue to secure them together, creating a thicker and sturdier letter.
Now, it's time to add the sheet music. Rip the sheet music into pieces using a straight edge to achieve a frayed look on the edges. Start gluing the sheet music onto the cardboard letter, making sure to cover all the edges and the front surface. Use white glue generously, applying it both on the front and back of the sheet music.
For added visual interest, you can layer smaller pieces of sheet music on top. Arrange them so that the print is right side up or be creative and place them randomly. Once all the sheet music is in place, let it dry for about 8 hours. Then, if you like the distressed look, use brown ink to lightly distress the edges. Tim Holtz Distress Inks work well for this purpose.
