It was invented in the 1840s in the United States and the kazoo is made of a thin, flexible membrane stretched over a hollow tube, and it produces a buzzing sound when played 🐝 The kazoo is often used in folk, blues, and jazz music, and it's a popular instrument for kids to play because it's easy to use and fun to make noise with 🎸

Fun fact: the kazoo is sometimes called a "whistle-drum" because it combines elements of both a whistle and a drum! 🥁

So today, we invite you to make a kazoo at your home with things you have!

Materials You'll Need:

• Toilet paper tube
• ‍Wax paper‍
• Rubber band‍
• Crayons or markers
• ‍Stickers

Instructions:

1. Take one toilet paper tube and decorate with with crayons, markers or stickers

2. Tear a piece of wax paper into “5x5” square

3. Place the wax paper over the top of the tube and fasten tightly with rubber band

4. Sing or talk into the kazoo!
