This piece is based on Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty Waltz for the ballet. Listen to Tchaikovsky’s Waltz and take notice of a few things: What is the time signature? What makes this a waltz? How is the main theme developed? For example, compare the theme at 0:36 and 1:36 - How is it different? What instruments are added?
